The medieval history of south-eastern Europe is not widely studied in the West, yet the region contained a realm, as big as France, which endured throughout the Middle Ages - the kingdom of Hungary. Other players involved in the story of medieval Hungary included the Wallachians, Moldavians and Transylvanians who today form the Romanian nation, the Croatians, Bosnians, Slovaks and Ruthenians.
