By 1779 blue coats became the new national uniform faced or 'turned up' with various colors to indicate which region of the country the regiments came from. Soldiers from New York and New Jersey wore buff facings with soldiers from the New England states having white lapels, collars and cuffs. Red facings distinguished the soldiers of Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, and blue were from the Carolinas and Georgia.
These figures represent the mid-Atlantic state regiments of Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia with their red facings. These troops were in the outposts on the Western frontier, making them great opponents for the Woodland Indians and Butler's Rangers already released.
