The heroic charge on Darius' center at the Battle of Gaugamela was a pivotal moment in history and First Legion has created it miniature. The Companion Cavalry were the world's first heavy cavalry, initially formed by King Philip II and later made famous by Alexander the Great. The unit was made up of chosen Companions and acted as Alexander's personal bodyguard. This Macedonian charges ahead with his short sword, or xiphos, alongside his fellows.
