First Legion

The mighty French knights could scatter a pike square with a well timed charge, but not without cost. Once one of the heavily armored horses was downed, the encumbrance of the plate could keep it down. The mounted knight fared little better if he wasn't able to kick free before the fall.

A German Landsknecht moves to finish off one of the French knights with the wickedly sharp point of his halberd, a weapon especially designed to deal with armored opponents on horseback. The knight fights to the last, his sword in hand.

This exciting vignette from First Legion can serve as an addition to a larger display or as small diorama in its own right. Each part is wonderfully detailed and hand painted miniature Renaissance warfare!
