The most legendary Harley-Davidson of World War II was the 1942 WLA 45. It was the most widely manufactured and could be found in all facets of armed conflict. Often decorated with division colors, these combat cycles were provided with standard military equipment, including rifle holsters attached to the fork. They were everywhere, used for escorting convoys, as rapid liaison, and by the military police. They were even used occasionally at the front and for reconnaissance missions.
