John Jenkins Designs RR-08 Captain Joseph Waite and Indian Scout
The Raid on St. Francis
Captain Joseph Waite, was born in Massachusetts, and originally served with the provincial regiment. In 1757, he became a corporal in John Burks’ Company of provincial Rangers. After serving with distinction he was brought to the attention of Rogers. In April 1758, Waite had built himself enough of a reputation to be promoted to First lieutenant in Rogers own company. In 1759, he was promoted to Captain and took part in the St. Francis Raid.
Waite was to successfully lead his party back to safety from the St. Francis raid.
