London Gothic

The Dorset Ooser was first mentioned in 1891, and was owned by the Cave family in Melbury from time out of mind. It is thought the Ooser was used in village revels in medieval times, and also Christmas Mummer plays performed in the village.
Today the custom has been revived and the Ooser can be seen at local fetes and carnivals performing with local Morris dancers.

The figure measures 95mm high.

This item is made from English pewter and hand painted in the UK.
