King & Country

This Royalist trooper shoulders his “Musketoon” as he prepares to fire from the saddle.
“Musketoons” were short-barrelled versions of soldiers’ muskets first carried by sailors and pirates and later adopted by cavalry as they were easy to carry (suspended by a spring hook on a cross belt) and to shoot while mounted.

Additional figures and diorama shown for scale & inspirational purposes.
