Battle of Monongahela

The Battle of Monongahela or the Battle in the Wilderness was an eye-opening defeat for the British during the French and Indian War. These toy soldiers represent the events of the battle that effectively ended the Braddock Expedition and killed Major-General Braddock. The British military apparatus made several changes in the wake of this disastrous defeat, including employing skirmishers to defend their columns on the march and making more use of native tribes to counter the French's extensive network of allied tribes.
