The DC-3, one of the most successful aircraft designs in history, was introduced as a passenger airliner with United in 1936. It fashioned its cabin on the luxurious Pullman railway cars of the era, offering numerous comforts for the first time including on-board lavatories and increased insulation to minimize engine noise. At the outbreak of World War II, a military transport variant of the plane known as the C-47 Skytrain — or "Gooney Bird" — was manufactured. This limited edition print shows a Gooney Bird, alongside a Staggerwing biplane, at the Santa Barbara airport in the early 1950s.

Limited edition print is signed and numbered by the artist.

Print measures 16.5" wide x 11" tall.
