World War One Air Wargaming

"The Great War of 1914 to 1918 saw the first major use of aeroplanes in combat
and as a wargames period it has much to recommend it. Battles are generally
of a simple nature with limited weaponry and plane performance. The planes of
the period include many weird and wonderful types, and the paint schemes range
from olive drab to rainbow designs! Generally regarded as the civilised era of air
warfare, World War One is certainly the time of the "Knights of the Air"."
