The idea for this photo came from a comic book called The Reivers. But the writer said it was based on a real event where a german sentry opened the gates for an SAS troop that was heading towards him from an exploding airfield behind. He even saluted them as they went past. :)

And with armament like that on board, he should be grateful they're concentrating on what's behind them. :eek:
